The morning stack: a 7am case study

A reader sent us their daily log. We asked permission to publish it. Lightly edited.
“I started DAILY first week of March. Two capsules at 7am with my coffee. Skipped two days in week two (forgot). Otherwise daily.
“Week 1: nothing. Coffee did its usual thing. I almost stopped buying.
“Week 2: noticed I didn’t have my 3pm slump on Tuesday. Could have been the weather.
“Week 3: didn’t have a slump Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. Decided it wasn’t the weather.
“Week 4: added FOCUS for deep-work blocks. Took it about an hour before my morning writing. The first day I noticed nothing. By the third day I noticed something subtle โ fewer urges to context-switch, less of a magnetic pull toward email. Not a feeling of being on something. Just less friction.
What we got wrong
“Months two and three I kept adding stuff. Reishi, ashwagandha, a magnesium glycinate. By month four I had no idea what was doing what. I dropped everything except DAILY and FOCUS for two weeks and the baseline held.”
That’s the protocol working. Eight-week comparison. Drop what didn’t earn its spot. The reader is now on DAILY + FOCUS only.
