Cordyceps militaris

Cordyceps has the strangest origin story of any mushroom we sell. In the wild it grows out of insects high in the Himalayas. Almost everything on the market today, including ours, is the cultivated species Cordyceps militaris, grown without the insect and standardized for its active compound.

What is actually in it

The compound to know is cordycepin, along with adenosine-related molecules. These are tied to how the body produces and uses energy at the cellular level, which is the thread running through most Cordyceps research.

What the research suggests

Studies have looked at Cordyceps for oxygen utilization, exercise performance, and fatigue, with the clearest results in older or less-trained people. The effect is steady stamina rather than a stimulant rush. There is no crash because there is no spike.

How we use it
