Turkey Tail

Trametes versicolor

Turkey Tail is the fan-shaped, banded mushroom you have almost certainly walked past on a fallen log. It is also one of the most heavily researched mushrooms in the world, largely because of two compounds isolated from it.

What is actually in it

Turkey Tail is the source of PSK and PSP, two protein-bound beta-glucans that have been studied extensively, especially in Japan. These polysaccharides are what put Turkey Tail at the front of the immune-support conversation.

What the research suggests

PSK in particular has decades of study behind it as an immune modulator. There is also growing interest in Turkey Tail and the gut, since its beta-glucans act as a prebiotic. The consistent theme is supporting and balancing immune function rather than stimulating it bluntly.

How we use it

Turkey Tail is a core part of our IMMUNITY blend and is available on its own as TURKEY TAIL. Because the beta-glucans are the point, we extract for them rather than selling cheap ground mycelium on grain.

How to take it

Daily and consistent, especially heading into the colder months. It stacks naturally with CHAGA for a broad immune and antioxidant base.
